At Cypress Adventures, we empower youth to develop leadership, self-awareness, and resilience through experiential learning, outdoor exploration, and community building. Our Youth Leadership Program fosters positive youth development, social-emotional growth, and leadership skills in an engaging, hands-on environment.

We are seeking passionate, mission-driven adults to join our team as Experiential Learning Facilitators, guiding adolescents in meaningful, reflective, and adventure-based learning experiences. This is more than a teaching role — it’s an opportunity to mentor, inspire, and cultivate the next generation of leaders.

    Position Overview

Experiential Learning Facilitators are responsible for creating safe, engaging, and reflective learning environments for youth in our after-school program. Facilitators guide activities, support leadership development, model Cypress values, and contribute to a collaborative team culture.

All hires begin at Level 1, with opportunities to progress to Level 2 and Level 3 based on demonstrated skills, experience, and performance. Progression is flexible and individualized, encouraging professional growth and mastery of experiential learning and youth leadership facilitation.

    Key Responsibilities (All Levels)

    • Facilitate daily program activities, including warm-ups, lessons, and reflective circles

    • Support youth in developing leadership, teamwork, and self-awareness

    • Model and uphold the 6 Cypress Values during all interactions

    • Assist with program logistics: transitions, snacks, materials, safety checks, and clean-up

    • Participate in team planning, debriefs, and professional development

    • Collaborate with Program Coordinators and fellow facilitators to ensure high-quality programming

Additional responsibilities grow with each level (1–3), including:

    • Providing feedback and mentorship to peers

    • Leading deep-thought or content-rich activities

    • Assisting with data collection, case management, and goal tracking

    • Driving transportation (if qualified) and supporting off-site activities

    • Contributing to recruitment, training, and program design

    Qualifications & Skills

We are looking for candidates who:

    • Are passionate about youth development and experiential learning

    • Can guide and inspire adolescents through reflective, hands-on learning

    • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills

    • Are open to feedback and continuous growth

    • Have the ability to manage group dynamics and adapt to the needs of diverse learners

    • Hold or are willing to obtain First Aid/CPR/AED certification (required at Level 2+)

    Preferred:

    • Previous experience in youth leadership, outdoor education, social-emotional learning, or positive youth development

    • Experience with adventure-based activities, camping, hiking, or other experiential learning programs

    Hours & Compensation

    • Afterschool shifts (Part-time): Monday–Thursday, with additional hours for trips, events, and professional development

    • Hourly pay starting at $18–$25 depending on level and experience

    • Full schedule and annual hours vary by level (Level 1: ~688 hrs/year; Level 3: ~1,096 hrs/year)

    • Opportunities for professional growth and advancement
